Jonesen Acquires Connecticut-based Web Hosting Company, WebSavvy
Jonesen, a leader in web design and web hosting, is excited to announce the acquisition of and partnership with the Connecticut based web hosting company, WebSavvy. The announcement was made to the WebSavvy client base in the fall of 2018. The acquisition discussion originally started when owners Beth Devine and Carolyn Griswold found that their career interests were diverging from web development and hosting. While Carolyn wanted to begin retirement, Beth wanted to pursue the marketing side of the web hosting industry. A web hosting firm acquisition and partnership with Jonesen offered the perfect solution for all parties. The experience and expertise of the Jonesen team allowed both Mrs. Griswold and Mrs. Devine to pursue their next career steps with confidence that their hosting clients would be well cared for. Additionally, Ms. Devine was able to enter into a partnership with Jonesen by becoming a marketing partner with the firm.
Regarding the acquisition and partnership, Beth Devine states, “We were looking for a company to purchase the web development and hosting part of our business. Located in CT, we were looking for a local provider. We spoke with several companies that either wanted to raise our clients’ rates 2-3 times or weren’t qualified to do the work. We were so pleased when Jonesen contacted us. They provide similar pricing, development skills, and quality customer service we were looking for. We continue to work with them on projects today. I would recommend them without hesitation.”
The total process took about 6 weeks to ensure a smooth transition and the deal was signed on 27 August 2018. This acquisition expanded Jonesen’s national footprint and provided continued management and hosting services to all the WebSavvy client base.
The acquisition fits Jonesen’s strategy to work with principals of small to medium-sized web hosting companies looking to make a transition or exit. Jonesen’s 15+ years of web hosting experience, its focus on digital security, and its commitment to excellent support and customer service gave the WebSavvy team peace of mind knowing their clients would be well cared for. And from the Jonesen perspective, Charles Elliott, Jonesen Partner and Head of Sales, states:
“Helping Carolyn enter retirement and Beth continue to do what she loves while providing continued support and digital marketing services to each client turned this into a win, win, win, win for Carolyn, Beth, the clients, and us. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed growing our relationships with each client; it’s exciting to continue to grow their success online.”
